Barbara Anne Rask

Barbara Anne Rask, age 55 years, passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2017 in St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Unit with all the love of her friends and family in her heart.

Barbara was born in Port Arthur, Ontario on March 23rd, 1962 and grew up in Current River. After graduating from Lakeview High School, Barbara used her amazing personality and nurturing heart to go into Early Childhood Education, which eventually lead to her running her own Home Daycare. Over her long career she has touched the hearts of hundreds of children and their families, leaving behind a legacy that cannot be measured.

When not tending the minds of the future Barbara was using her creative and caring mind on paintings, crafts, puzzles, gardening, sewing and helping her kids with the many school projects they brought home.

Though, really what can be said about a woman who poured her heart and all of her love into everything that she did. There won’t be a day that will go by without her finding her way into our thoughts and hearts.

Barbara will sadly be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Rodney Rask; her son Eric Rask and daughter, Caitlyn Rask; her parents, Alfred and Ingrid Kreker; her sisters, Liane MacAskill (Bruce) and Linda Belcamino (Rino); her sister-in-law, Susanne Levoir and brother-in-law; Ray Rask (Kathy); her nephews, Kyle and Taylor MacAskill, Lucas Belcamino, Shawn (Dee) and Ryan Rask (Sherri), Devon and Logan Woodbeck and Aaron Stark (Christine); and her nieces, Tia Belamino and Carrie Thompson (Mike).

Funeral Services for Barbara will commence on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, with Rev. Ed Long presiding. Visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service time. A private interment will take place at a later date.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the TBRHSC - Northern Cancer Fund.

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.”
