Beatrice Stadey (nee Fairall) passed away peacefully in hospital on March 16, 2015 with family by her side.

Bea was an incredibly giving, knowing woman and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her parents Siiri and Frank Fairall, brothers Jack, Leslie Sr., William, Fairall and sister Mary Stark.

Bea is survived by Ken, her husband of 59 years, her five children and 11 grandchildren: Cindy (Ron) Soldan (Sophie, Sera Soldan), Dirk (Karen) Stadey, Ken (Sandy) Stadey Jr., (Jim, Robert (Melissa), Neil, Kenneth Ian Stadey), Kevin Stadey (Kaitlyn, Shane, Spencer Stadey), Susan (Andrew) Davies (Owen, Matthew Davies) and three great grandchildren, Liam and Lily Stadey and Jacob Boulet. Survived also by her sisters Helen Dettmer and Betty McKinnon, brother-in-law Harry Stark and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Port Arthur, Bea attended Oliver Road and P.A.C.I. Schools. In the early days, Mom taught Grade 2 at Balsam Street School, before leaving this role to take on a 'full time teaching job' with her growing family at home.

Mom was such a good teacher. We learned so many lessons from her. She had a wonderful imagination and her make believe play was awesome.

No grandkid wanted to leave sleepovers. She adored her grandchildren. Bea also worked for several years at K-Mart in the domestic department. It was a good match, as Mom was the expert in all things domestic. The cooking, the baking, the recipes, the gardening, the homemaking, the creating and of course the laundry, which we all teased her about and which she secretly loved us to do.

Bea was amazing; so pretty, so intuitive, so easy to talk to. She could be both playful and strong; she was practical but loved to dream and always, shared in ours. Her family was her life; our achievements were hers. We will miss her so much.

'Somewhere over the rainbow...that's where you'll find me...'

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20th in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Ed Long.  Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior, at 10:00 a.m.
