Barry Suttle

It is with great sadness that the family of Bernard “Barry” Suttle, age 86 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the TBRHSC.

Barry was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan on February 14, 1936. The family left the farm when he was very young to start a new life in Fort William. In 1959, he married Gail Johnson who sadly predeceased him at the young age of 42. They had two children together. The family built a camp at Obonga Lake, where he still loved spending time. In Barry’s younger years, he was an avid athlete competing in baseball, football and played junior hockey for the Fort William Canadians and the Hurricanes. Barry spent most of his working years at B & B Stone and McMillan Bloedel. After the mill closed, he did numerous jobs working for himself.

Barry will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Lorri (Gord Harvey), by his son Barry (Elizabeth Ainsworth), granddaughter Kimberly (Kory Kasprick), grandson Eric (Bailey) Suttle and great grandson Calvin Suttle, sister-in-law Carol Vukovich and nephew Mark Vukovich. He was predeceased by his wife Gail, his parents, sister-in-law Myra Westman and daughter-in-law Sandra Begall.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Adelina Pecchia officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Northern Cardiac Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
