Betty Elise Einarson (nee Perling) age 56 passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Friday, March 13, 2015 with her family and solid friends by her side.

Betty was born on September 8, 1958, the youngest child of Bill and Zita (Curtola) Perling. She attended St. Edward's Elementary School, Sir Winston Churchill High School and graduated from Confederation College - Developmental Services Worker program in 1980.  She worked at Northwest Regional Centre and Options Northwest Group Home for over 30 years. Betty was a devoted and proud mother.

Betty was a happy, fun loving "girl".  She had many loyal and caring friends whom she appreciated and valued all her life.  Betty took an active interest in her sons' activities and worked for many years on fundraising projects for the Fort William Americans Little League baseball club. Ed, Jared and Kyle have many happy memories of family trips and camping holidays at Lac de Mille Lacs.

Betty will be sadly missed by her loving husband Ed (her 'Mister Ed"!) and her precious sons Jared and Kyle (Kayla LeBlanc).  She is also survived by her mother Zita Perling, her sisters Janet Anderson, Susan Andrusco, and Carol (Brian) Hornung as well as her parents-in-law Joyce and Jim Einarson, brothers and sisters-in-law Jim, Lang, Cindy, Terri Lyn and Joanie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Betty was predeceased by her father Bill Perling and her brother-in-law Norman Anderson.

The family is deeply grateful for the excellent care and compassion Betty received from the ICU nurses and doctors.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Msgr. P. M. Stilla, V.G. of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made in Betty's memory to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.

Betty Boop will be forever remembered and eternally loved by her heartbroken husband.

The Day God Took You Home

A million times I've needed you,
A million times I've cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still,
In my heart you hold a place,
No one else can ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
Part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
