Ms. Betty Sara Garbutt, age 68 years, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 25, 2017.

Betty was born on December 26, 1948 in Fort William to Martin Bruce and Beatrice Winters. She worked for many years with Dilico as an Emergency Foster Care Provider. Betty enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, cooking and camping. Her greatest passion was family and she truly did love spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty had a great sense of humour, was very down to earth and outspoken. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Madeline Garbutt and Lahoma Garbutt; grandchildren Quinn Garbutt, Ashley Costa, Vriano Greco, Amore Greco, Jovanni Greco, Aveena Greco and Victoria Garbutt and Bailey Graham as well as great-grandchildren Weston Hopfner and Leila Hopfner. She is also survived by her sisters Gwen Liddicoat and Shirley McCormack as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her son Charles Garbutt and daughter Victoria Irene Garbutt; her parents and two sisters, Marianne and Louise. 

A graveside service for the late Betty Garbutt will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2:00pm in Mountainview Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held at the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at 1:00pm followed by a procession to Betty's final resting place at 1:45pm. Should friends so desire, donations can be made in memory of Betty to the Dew Drop Inn or Shelter House and would be greatly appreciated.
