Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing. It is with great gladness and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Gary Glaab. Bob was born 81 years ago, on January 9, 1938 to Michael and Margaret (Forbes) in Stratford, Ontario.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ruth (Hoy) of sixty years, his children Suzanne Matheson (Brian), Sherrie Lou, Krista Lynn Grebenc (Brian), Kevin (Tina), his grandchildren; Ethan Matheson (Jessica), Jordan Grebenc (Katherine Loayza), Matthew Grebenc (Breanna), Joshua Grebenc, Adam Grebenc, Kandyce Goodwin (Blair Griffiths), Justin Glaab (Rachel), Lee Glaab. Then his life was blessed with 9 great-grandchildren; Olivia-Marie Matheson, Alison and Luke Grebenc, Jaeden Goodwin, Ryan Goodwin, Ricky Goodwin, Paisley Ferdais-Glaab, Liam Glaab, Olivia Glaab.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Jack (Marie), Laurence (Hazel), Donald (Jean), his sisters, Nancy, Marie (Leonard) and sister-in-law Marlene Hoy. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Caroll Fraser, Susan Hoy, Renske Daer and brothers-in-law Bill Fraser, Carson Hoy, Edgar Daer as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Bob’s home church was Bethany Pentecostal Chapel, he was a lifetime member of the Manitouwadge Archival Historical Society of which he was treasurer for many years. His many interests included woodworking, upholstery and general handyman. He worked at Noranda Mines, Geco division for 35 years as a millwright. 

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Pentecostal Chapel, Manitouwadge, Saturday, January, 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dan Lee of Chapleau officiating.

As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Bethany Pentecostal Chapel or the Manitouwadge Archival Historical Society.
