Brian Michael Dzijak, age 39 years, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

Brian was born June 21, 1982 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was raised and educated locally. He attended St. Patrick High School, where he became heavily involved in sports ranging from football to badminton. He loved anything competitive and was a gifted sportsman – anything you could play, he could play better. Anyone who knew Brian, knew that he hated to lose more than he loved to win. He was passionate about touch football, slo-pitch, hockey and golf and was always helping his teammates to play their best. His last day was spent in a golf tournament, followed by a dinner and shuffleboard with close friends.

Following his graduation from Lakehead University, he moved to Vegreville, Alberta and acquired his CA to start his accounting career. Ten years ago, he returned to Thunder Bay and worked as an accountant/controller for Grant Thornton, Bearskin Airlines and the last five years at Smith's RV. He put his CA and CPA to good use at the dealership, looking for ways to improve and streamline business operations. He worked hard, was detail oriented and would always be there to help his coworkers - to say he gave 100% would be an understatement.

When Brian met Shawna, he was quiet about their relationship at the start, but soon it blossomed into something that fit them both perfectly. Brian and Shawna were a team and he loved spending time with their kids, Evan and Kendra, becoming a parent to them in every way.

Brian is survived by the love of his life and fiancée, Shawna Taddeo (nee Wojtowicz) and their children, Evan and Kendra; parents, Ed and Lisa; brothers, Jason (Amber) and Kevin (Caitlyn) and nieces and nephews, Jesse, Makenna, Julia, Aubree and Caris. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends also survive.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Emilio and Maria Bailot.

Funeral Services for the late Brian Dzijak will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 with family and friends gathering at St. Patrick Cathedral for the Funeral Mass at 11:00am celebrated by Msgr. P.M. Stilla, V.G.

COVID-19 Protective measures are still being applied in group settings. Capacity is limited, masks or face coverings are required and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet is mandatory for those attending the service.

For those unable to attend the service, a video recording will be available on the Everest of Thunder Bay website beginning on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Brian to PRO Kids would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay.
