Brian Kowalczyk

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Brian Joseph Kowalczyk. He passed away at his home on Monday July 4, 2022.

Brian was born in Fort William Ontario on October 5, 1960, the 7th of 9 children of Tony and Nellie Kowalczyk. He graduated from Selkirk High school and worked various jobs until he was employed by CP Rail from where he recently retired.

Brian was a great father, a supportive husband and a loving grandfather. He was dedicated to helping others, never shying away from helping a neighbour in need of an extra set of hands. He was a volunteer with The Westfort Hockey League for many years. He enjoyed spending his time with his grandchildren. Whether it was splashing in the pool, having a bonfire or buying them special treats; it was the quality time he enjoyed with them making special memories.
He was a great friend to many and will be missed and remembered for his generous heart, awesome personality, sense of humor and even his cheesy jokes. Even though he was a man of few words his actions spoke volumes.

Left to forever love and remember him are his wife Wendy; Sister-in-law Sandra Soderholm, his children Christopher, Daniel, Nicholas and David; his Daughter-in-law Yesica Falla. & his grandchildren Olivia (Nick); Cataleya, Oliver, Mariana, Nellie (Dave); Ryann (Dan) & Christopher, Michael (Chris). He is also survived by his siblings, Beverley, Ken, Patty and Donna & many cousins.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, Nellie and Tony Kowalczyk & his siblings: Richard, Gary, Sharon, and Theresa.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 9th at The WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Visitation for family and friends will take place at 1:00PM with a service to follow at 2:00PM. Cremation to follow.

Donations to Our Hearts at Home Campaign in memory of Brian would be appreciated.

He had so much more life to live and memories to make.
We will forever cherish the memories we were so lucky to make together.
