It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brian Ralph Wiens announces his sudden passing on Sunday March 6, 2016.

Brian was born on March 21, 1953 in Port Arthur. He attended Current River School and Lakeview High School graduating in 1972. He was a life time resident of Current River and played an active role in the community.

He was employed at the Grain Elevators and completed his electrical apprenticeship with RJ Ball Electric. Being close to family was very important to him. Brian left the trade to take a position with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool retiring in 2001 as Maintenance Supervisor.

After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for cooking along with being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Brian is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Sundell), son Bradley (Sonya), daughters Janet Wiens (David) and Laura (Derek) Blunt, grandchildren; Mason Wiens, Logan Herriot, Abigail and Claire Blunt, parents Dora Scrimshaw, Elford Wiens (Jeanette), mother -in -law Norma Sundell, brothers; Neil (Mary) Wiens, Allan (Cheryl) Wiens, Sister Cindy (Ray) Davey, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandparents Laura (Elia) Deshaies and Jake Wiens, along with James and Hilda Henderson, father-in-law Gus Sundell and brother-in-laws Rob Weldon and Stan Borysiewicz.

The Celebration of Life for Brian will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Current River Community Centre, 450 Dewe Ave.

In Lieu of Flowers, Donations to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters-Provincial Fish and Wildlife Fund or a Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
