It is with great sadness that the family of Penny Skunk announce her passing on Tuesday the 23rd of February 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband Simon and a large and loving family.
Penny was born and raised in Mishkeegogamang First Nation. A woman of faith, devoted to her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She enjoyed crafting and created incredible moccasins, mitts and beadwork. Many will remember her dedicated work with Tikinagan Child and Family Services. Everyone who knew her was drawn to her quiet strength and quirky sense of humor.
There will be a visitation here, in Thunder Bay, on Friday February 26th at 2:00 pm, and a service, and interment, in her home community on Saturday.
