Byron Halliday
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Byron Allister Halliday, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on July 29, 2021 at the age of 76.

Byron, 'Tommy', was born and raised in Sydney, Nova Scotia and was always so proud of his Cape Breton roots.

He moved to Toronto to start his career with Air Canada, and this is where he met his forever love, Pat, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage this past June.

They relocated to Thunder Bay, where they both worked together for over 30 years at the Air Canada counter. Byron was always ready with a helping hand, huge laugh and big smile to meet travelers.

Besides being a loving husband to Pat, he was an amazing father to his two boo-keys, Stacey and Jennifer. He was always there when they needed him and shared with them his zest for life.

As much as he loved his girls, the role he was most proud of was that of Grandpa/Poppy to Claire-Bear, Ayla-Bayla, Sagie-Baygie and Nate-Bate. He adored his grandkids and couldn't wait to tell them all his stories and share his life lessons.

Byron loved painting canvases, capturing sunsets, perfecting his pool, telling long tales and spending time with those he loved. He cherished his family and friends and was always there if anyone needed a helping hand. He was the life of every party and knew how to make people smile and laugh.

Missing him always is his wife Pat, daughters Stacey (Chris) and Jennifer (Wes), grandchildren Claire, Ayla, Sage and Nathan, his brothers Howard and Billy (Linda), sisters-in-law Mary and Angie, brother-in-law Tom (Lynn) and so many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Should friends so desire, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.

For all that knew and loved Byron, spare a moment to honour him by taking a page from his book. Treat everyone as a friend, lead with kindness, show the world your biggest smile and most of all, love life and live it well.

We love you and will miss you dearly Byron/Tommy/Dad/Grandpa/Poppy. You will be in our hearts forever and we will keep your spirit alive always.

Arrangements have been entrusted to WESTFORT FUNERAL CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
