It is with devastating sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother Candace Lorraine Upton at the tender age of 40 years young.
Candace excelled at home décor and every place she lived in was homey and vibrant. She also loved to do crafts. Her favourite colour was purple, as her grandson Frankie reminded us; especially Freezies!
Candace prospected and was the official camp cook on the jobs with her Dad and brother. She even did commercial fishing for a while as well as working at a fishing resort and most recently pumping gas.
Candace was always a true, loyal and compassionate friend and wore her heart on her sleeve. She had a very strong spiritual soul and felt the presence of the loved ones gone before – they were her guardian angels.
Our Candace will be dearly missed by her Mom & Dad Juanita and Frank Houghton, her beautiful girls Lena (Clarence and grandboy Frankie) of Thunder Bay and Jacinda (Maverick and grandgirl Arabella), her big brother Phil (Anna and their children Princess [and her son Adam], Jules, Emily, Sabastian and Samuel), and her little sister Sheena (George and their children Damien, Ayden, Jared and Skylar) of Beardmore, ON. Candace big clan of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.
She was predeceased by her Gramma & Grampa Houghton and her Nana & Papa Upton. They are calling their Candy home.
A Visitation will be held on Friday April 17th, 2015 in the HARBOURVIEW FUNERAL CENTRE, 499 North Cumberland Street where family and friends may come and go anytime between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Cremation will follow and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Beardmore, ON. If anyone so desires donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
