Carlo Rigato

It is with great sadness that the family of Carlo Giovanni Rigato announce his passing on Friday, May 5, 2017. 

Carlo was born in Breda Di Piave, Italy on November 7, 1931. He left home at 19 years old and spent time in Canada and Australia before finally immigrating to Canada in 1957. He settled in Port Arthur and married Rita Margarit in 1962. They were blessed with 3 wonderful children. He was a crane operator by trade for the majority of his career and was a hard-working family man. He loved caring for his garden, making homemade wine and salamis, but family was most important to him. He will be deeply missed. 

He is survived by his loving and caring wife Rita, his children Linda (Mike), Joe (Cathy), and Carla (Cynthia), his grandchildren Cole, Nicole, and Darren, and his step-grandchildren Erin and Cory. Also survived by relatives here, in Italy, and Australia.

Funeral services will be held at Corpus Christi Church on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. A reception will follow downstairs.

Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
