It is with deep sorrow and shattered hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Thirlwall (nee Dalman), who left us on May 31, 2025 at the age of 69. Carol was a beloved wife, mother and sister whose kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on August 8, 1955, in Fort William (now Thunder Bay). Carol lived a life full of purpose and joy. Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and resilience, a testament to her enduring spirit.
Carol was cherished by husband, Randy Thirlwall, son Greg and daughter Joanne (AJ), as well as her sister, Diane (Bill) and daughter Sarah; sister-in-law, Lillian Thomas, son David (Yvette) and children Alexandra, Darian and Victoria. Carol was predeceased by her parents Herman Karl Gisli Dalman in 1992 and Holmfridur Gudrun Anna Christianson (Skaptason adopted) in 1985 and her beloved brother Leonard Dalman in October 2023.
In 1970, she graduated from Westgate CVI in Thunder Bay. From there she took a 2 year nursing course at Confederation College. Upon graduation, she received a position with the Terrace Bay Hospital. Upon leaving there, Carol moved to Winnipeg. She worked at various nursing homes before accepting a position with the Misericordia Hospital retiring at 55 from there.
Carol was a person who would help someone wherever and/or whenever she could.
Cremation has taken place. No service or celebration of life will take place as per her request. Please raise a glass of your favourite drink when you think of Carol who will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered by all whose lives they touched.
