Carol McNally
It is with profound sadness that the family of Carol McNally announce her passing on July 18th, 2021.
Born and raised in Thunder Bay she proudly wore the titles of wife, mother, nana and grandma.

This fiery redhead was the only child of Werner and Delie Crogan.  Growing up on Sprague St, Carol met many of her lifelong friends in the neighbourhood, where she attended Francis Street Elementary and Selkirk Highschool.  After meeting Lang, she was soon married to the love of her life.  This August would have been their 59th wedding anniversary, an incredible accomplishment!

Carol and Lang bought a home in Westfort where they raised three boys – Steven, Todd, and Michael.  She was extremely proud of the many accomplishments of her children.  Becoming a grandparent brought new life and energy to Carol.  Known as Nana to Whitney and Walker and Grandma to Annabelle, she was excited to fill this new role.  Carol was an outstanding grandparent attending as many events as she could.  Sitting in a cold arena, crowded auditorium, or watching a performance virtually she would attentively take in every moment.  Walker, Whitney, and Annabelle will miss her.

Professionally, Carol proudly worked in the secretarial field.  Starting in city hall she later moved to The Lakehead District School Board.  Her most memorable moments were spent as the night school secretary.  She absolutely loved working with the staff and students and they in turn appreciated the humor and good-hearted approach she took to work. Carol truly had a heart of gold.  She gave her time and energy to so many people.

She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church where she earned the title of “Secondhand Rose in her secondhand clothes” for her enthusiastic approach to church rummage sales.  Buying and sharing gifts with others brought her much joy but Carol taught us that sharing your time and making connections with others was the most important thing in life.  Her connection with the Red Hat Ladies, visits to Magnus Theatre and her shopping trips to Duluth with the ladies truly epitomized this philosophy.

A service will be held on August 5th at Harbourview Funeral Centre.  Visitation will occur from 10-11 am followed by a service and reception. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Lakehead Learning Foundation to help Carol support others to reach their goals.
