Catherine Parker
It is with deep regret that the family of Catharine Elizabeth Parker announce her passing, the youngest daughter of Ralph and Margaret Parker.

Cathy passed away at her home at 1500 Dease Street on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the young age of 47. Cathy struggled with asthma and lung problems for many years and has succumbed to them.

She attended Heath Park Elementary School, Westgate High School and Confederation College, where she studied travel and tourism.

Cathy was a very creative person who enjoyed scrapbooking, making jewelery, decorating her home for special occasions and especially cooking. An accomplished cook, Cathy enjoyed Christmas baking and cooking and she often made her baking and cooking into Christmas gifts for friends and family, all of which were greatly appreciated for their loving and caring preparation.

Like her father Ralph, she really loved being in nature, especially at the family camp at Oliver Lake. Ralph and Cathy loved the beauty and simplicity of being close to God in Nature, like Jesus did when He wanted to be close to His Father.

Cathy is survived by her loving mother Margaret Parker; her sister Roxanne; nieces Kaitlynn and Brianna; nephew Malory (who was close to aunt Cathy) and her beautiful young grandnephew Fenix. Family was very important to Cathy and she loved each of them dearly. She is also survived by her uncles Edward, Milton and Ken and aunts Violet and Rena.

She was predeceased by her loving father Ralph Parker; her grandparents Lydia and Edmund Link and Evelyn and Harvey Parker. She was also predeceased by her uncles Earl, Lloyd, Richard and Harry (Ralph’s brothers), Tom and Roger (Ralph’s brother-in-laws) and her especially close uncle William (Billy) Link and by her aunts Rose and Daisy (Ralph’s sisters).

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dexter vanDyke officiating.

If so desired, please make a Memorial Gift in Cathy’s name to a charity of your choice. Nature oriented and family oriented charities would greatly please her.
