Catherine (Cathy) Margaret Syvitski, age 60 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in the company of friends at her home on Thursday, June 2, 2016. Cathy was born in Thunder Bay to loving parents Lawrence (Lorne) Syvitski and Sally Syvitski (nee Polusny). Lorne and Sally built their world around Cathy.
Together they enjoyed maintaining a meticulous garden and yard, vacationing in the sun in Florida and visiting family in Manitoba.
Cathy, an enthusiastic Maple Leafs fan, enjoyed many sports as well as attending live musical performances where she would sing or dance. While Cathy enjoyed going out for coffee, swimming, or bowling she was equally happy in her own back yard, or socializing with friends in her home. With an eye for detail and a penchant for organization, Cathy ensured everything was in its right place in the home. Above all, Cathy’s home life was marked by the special bond she shared with her mother, to whom she became a tremendous help mate in Sally’s final years.
Sally’s tremendous forethought ensured that Cathy, her ‘angel’, would always be surrounded by a remarkable circle of family, friends and neighbours who would be committed to loving and caring for her as Sally had demonstrated for so many years.
