McDougall, Cecilia (1)
Cecilia “Sis” McDougall (nee Magus), age 79, passed away peacefully at the TBRHSC after a short but courageous battle with cancer on March 21, 2020.

Sis was born in Fort William on June 18, 1940 to Nellie and John Magus who were immigrants to Canada from the Ukraine.  Sis met Gary McDougall in 1956 and they married in 1957 and she began her life as a devoted wife and mother.  Sis and Gary began to build their future home and they moved in 1961.  Her family always came first; she loved her home garden, cooking and going to camp and fishing were her passion.  Sis worked at a number of businesses;  Thunder Bay Tree Farm, Wesslinks Chicken Farm, B&B Stone and A&P on Syndicate Avenue.  She was also a volunteer with West Arthur Community Centre as community was so important to her.

Sis will forever be missed by Gary, who will lovingly remember the love of his life along with their children Alexander (Brenda Joy) and daughter Brenda Lee, grandchildren; Lisa (Sergio Lacoste) and Mandi, her sister Mary Stecky (Ellie), her niece Linda McFarlane (Stecky), her great nephews, Lance and Landin McFarlane, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.  Sis was predeceased by her parents; sister Hilda Oleski, brothers Joseph and Jack Magus, nieces Sandra Gamble (nee Stecky) and Kim Pereczky-Tucker.

Words cannot express our thanks for TBRHSC ICU Department, you know who you are, the care you provided to my wife and our mom, and your compassion to us in this very difficult time; this will never be forgotten.  You know what you did to support our family and this was truly exceptional in these challenging times.  We also want to extend our sincere thanks to EMS First Responders, Fire & Rescue, the TBRHSC Emergency Department and Northwest Funeral Alternative Inc. for overseeing her wishes.  God Bless All of You.

Cremation has taken place as per her wishes and a celebration of life for Sis will take place at a later date for family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the TBRHSC Cancer Centre or Canadian Cancer Society.
