It is with profound heartbreak and deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Susan Bureyko (nee Taylor), at the age of 73, on March 7, 2025 at home, surrounded by her loving family after a 4-year (extended) battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, Susan faced each challenge with remarkable strength, courage, and grace. Susan's family was by her side as she passed, and her legacy of love and caring and her resilience will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
During this time of heartache, treasure the memories of Susan and live each day to the fullest, as she wanted to be remembered with happiness. She lived a full and beautiful life, one that will be forever cherished by all who knew her. She was a source of inspiration to us, teaching the importance of love and caring, of laughter and joy in our lives. Susan, we hope you are at peace; you are deeply loved and will forever remain in our hearts.
In accordance with Susan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at First Wesley United Church on Saturday May 24, 2025, at 11:00 am with Reverend Lionel Ketola officiating. If desired, donations in Susan's remembrance can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation at Thunder Bay Regional or to First Wesley United Church on Brodie Street.
