Chantal Lynn Lebel

Chantal Lynn LeBel, aged 29 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the TBRHSC. Chantal was born on May 14, 1988 at McKellar General Hospital. She attended St. Martin’s School and St. Patrick’s High School Community Living Class.

Chantal was involved with Special Olympics Bowling and she enjoyed fishing with her Uncle Rick, shopping at Value Village and she especially enjoyed poutine at the mall with the girls. Chantal loved living in her new apartment with her dog Smokey. Family and friends were everything to her and she lived to tease them and be teased by them. She loved getting together with family and band functions. Chantal will be dearly missed by her parents Doreen and Tom, her brother Tommy (April), Christy, her beloved dog Smokey and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles who meant everything to her. She was predeceased by her sister Mellisa. 

Funeral services for Chantal LeBel will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home with Father James Panikulam officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Following the interment a reception will be held at the Oliver Road Recreation Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to Special Olympics Bowling c/o D. Minoletti, 421 W. Donald Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario P7E 5Y1 would be appreciated by the family.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Habjan, Shelly and the Renal Department who were so loving and caring with Chantal her whole life and provided such exceptional care and compassion for over 25 years. Also, a big thank you to Community Nurses, ICU, Emergency Department, 2A and 2B, and the numerous support workers who provided such wonderful care.
