Charlene Ann Comuzzi, age 72 years passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. She was born April 20, 1952, to George William Comuzzi and Doris Rene Comuzzi.

Charlene had spent over 40 years in the Real Estate Industry, working for Royal Lepage Lannon Realty. She looked forward to her mornings with her work family, Kelly, Christine Tanya, Kayty and all her work colleagues. She enjoyed the new agent’s energy and many questions and was always proud to lend a hand or offer advice if asked. To Nathan and Christine, she had the utmost respect for you both. Andrew, she looked forward to your conversations. Thank you for being there for us always your support and love meant and means the world to her and I.

To her Shebandowan family, Char believed we should have fun as kids and ensured we learned how to water ski and surf and of course know how to fish!  Cozy Camp was a time for our mom (Dodie), Char and her nephews to unwind and drop a line, it was about the special time shared together.

Charlene cared for our mother and made sure she had everything and every comfort possible in Moms declining years. Char was active in her faith community, she taught music at Avila centre, guitar and banjo she loved her strings!!

She was a Eucharistic minister at Holy Family Church and ensured her nephews participated in Sunday morning services and Christmas celebrations. Christmas was her favorite always ensuring even when we were kids, we had special packages to open.

Those who knew her especially her neighbourhood family Angela, Andrew, Shaela and Darrah, Gord and Jeanie knew she had to have the lights and the swag! She loved you all so much and could not have done this all without you. Grass, snow, the special treats from her special little girls. She lit up every time your names were mentioned.

To her fishing family she will be with you while you’re trying to land the big one! Char loved to fish, loved curling, snowmobiling, and she loved a good party! She had an infectious laugh and a warm caring spirit.

To her family George, Michael, Suzanne, Maureen, William, George, Jon, MJ, she loved you all so much and was so proud of each of you and the fine young men you became. Char never complained when asked how are you she said I am good.  She never wanted you to feel bad or sad and did everything to try to lift you up.

On April 1, 2024, she received the terrible news that she had stage 4 lung cancer. Trying to process it all she packed up and went fishing! She never gave up and fought a courageous battle, we witnessed a courage and selflessness we will never forget. So, rest e  asy our beautiful sister, drop a line and as you would say, ”I would rather be fishing”.

Left behind is her sister Maureen Comuzzi and her son William (Delani), Older Brother George Comuzzi, Brother Michael Comuzzi and Suzanne, nephews George and Josee, Jon and Molly, and Michael (MJ).

Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses on 1A at the Thunder Bay regional health sciences centre for all of their special care and love during Charlene’s journey. We can’t thank you enough.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m.  on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral with Msgr. Rev. P.M. Stilla V.G. officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. A celebration of life and party will held at a later date.
