It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Papp on April 19th, 2022 with family by his side.
Born in Hungary in 1937, Charlie immigrated to Canada in 1957 to start a new life and worked as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic for Manitoba Pool Elevators retiring in 1998.
Charlie’s greatest joys were cooking amazing meals for his family, fishing & hunting trips with guys, tending to his garden and the occasional visit to the casino. He was a very proud man rarely asking for help and insisted on doing everything himself up until the last few months of his life.
He is survived by his wife Clara of 64 years, daughter Cindy Howarth (Kirk), and grandsons Davis (Mara) and Mitchell. He was predeceased by his son Charles in 1987.
As per Charlies wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date where he will be laid to rest with his beloved son.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
