Chris Paskalis

Posted

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Chris Paskalis, age 88, November 22, 2018 in St. Joseph's Hospital. Born May 2, 1930, he was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay.

In his early life he worked in construction with Zanette's Construction Company. He then changed careers and spent many years as a bartender at the AirLane Hotel. In his later years he was employed at the CNR, which was his place of employment when he retired.

In his youth, Chris was involved with Little Theatre and enjoyed his short acting career and his role in "Bell, Book and Candle."

Chris' major love was the game of golf. He was a longtime member of the Fort William Country Club and spent all of the summer months on the golf course. He golfed right up to the age of 86 when his failing health started to interfere with his ability to continue.

Chris made daily visits to Naxos Restaurant for a cup of coffee, a chat with the waitresses and a sharing of a few jokes.

Chris found love late in life when he met Angie Buset. They had 8 years together before her passing in 2014.

Chris was predeceased by his parents William and Evangeline Paskalis, brother-in-law Alex Drombolis in 1998, niece Diana Drombolis in 2014 and his only sister Cathy Drombolis in March 2018.

Chris is survived by nephew Bill Drombolis, niece Alexis Bone (Frank), as well as great nephews and niece Mark Drombolis, Meagan Gallagher (Mike), and Michael Bone (Sarah).

As per Chris' wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service with interment of his ashes, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
