Christina (Chrissy) Semple (nee MacLeod)

Christina (Chrissy) Semple (nee MacLeod) passed away peacefully at TBRHSC with loved ones at her side after a brief illness.

Chrissy was born March 2, 1931 in Port Arthur, Ontario to Finley and Annie MacLeod where she later met and married Robert (who loved her to the moon and back). Together, they raised their children and enjoyed time spent with their grandchildren and greatgrandchildren in the Thunder Bay area. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage enjoyed her travels to Scotland. She also quite enjoyed travelling to B.C. and Hamilton/Dundas to visit family. She stayed connected with several lifelong friends from her public-school days and very much enjoyed getting together with her bridge ladies.

She was a career woman and after retiring from the Lifestyle Insurance she spent many years volunteering for the Alzheimer’s Society, the NDP, and Lakeview Presbyterian church. Chrissy stayed active and spry by baking and watching her grand dogs. Family and friends loved her shortbread, and it wasn’t until years later that the kids learned that family got the castoffs that weren’t quite perfect enough for the church bake sales.

Chrissy is survived by her children Debbie (Jim Dyson) Ezack, Adrianne Semple, and son Robert, by her grandchildren Hilling (Caycie Soke), Saird, Kendra, and Andrew (Leah) and Robert and Willow, by her great grandchildren and greatest joys Robbie, Mary Jean, and Harvey Ezack. As well as many nieces and nephews, by her sister Cathy McMillin and her children Kenny (Linda) McMillin and Wendy (Cameron) Parker.

Predeceased by her parents, Finlay and Annie, husband, Robert, brother Kenneth and brother-in-law Clare.

Thank you very much to the Doctors, nurses, UCAs and PSWs from 2B TBRHSC for the care provided to Chrissy during her time in hospital. Thank you to the staff at the Walford for the care provided.

Cremation has taken place.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in the chapel of Sargent and Son, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Markus Arseneault officiating.
