Clotilda Gascon
December 20, 1932 – October 21, 2016

It is with heavy hearts, that the family announces the gentle passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, gram and ma, Clotilda (Tilda) Gascon, on Friday, October 21, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital at the age of 83 years young.

Tilda was born in Ignace, Ontario where she spent her entire life.  Mom and Dad (Bill Gascon Sr.), raised 6 kids in Ignace and loved the outdoors.  Although not a hunter, Mom enjoyed the rides in the bush, fishing, and the annual blueberry harvest.

She worked full-time at local restaurants and was an amazing cook.

Her cinnamon buns, homemade bread, pierogies and cabbage rolls were renowned within the family and the community.   Mom loved to knit, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making many baby sweaters, mittens, and socks.  Mom also loved to visit her family who lived all over Northwestern Ontario.

She would go on extended visits so she could spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joys of her life.  Mom was an avid hockey fan and loved watching her Montreal Canadiens, Don Cherry, and going to the local rink to cheer on family.  Family was always the most important thing to Mom and we are sure she is sending "kissie-kissie’s" to everyone from above.

Very much loved and greatly missed by her children - Lorne (Helen), Warren (Lynn), Kathy (Robbin), Sherry (Bryan), Tammy (Phil), Bill (Leonie); grandchildren Darryl (Gina), Shane, Jonathan (Melissa), Kari (Scott), Ashleigh (Jesse), Kendra (Chris), Dillon (Amy), Adam (Kailey), Holly (Kolby), Krista, Gillian, Kelsey, Marissa, Christopher, Keayra, and her great grandchildren (her babies) Sam, Ella, Julia, Elliot, Paige, Kenseth, Hudson, Vaughan, Sawyer, Hailey, Payton, Raleigh, Isaac, Remi and Spencer. She also leaves behind her beloved sister Anne, and many more extended family too numerous to mention.

Tilda was predeceased by her husband Bill in July, 2011, parents, Pasquale and Antoinetta Taddeo and siblings, Albert, Tony, Geno and Mike.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Care Northwest.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the nursing and physio staff of 2 North, St. Joseph's Hospital for their care and compassion during mom's illness.

EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street, Thunder Bay, in care of arrangements.

Love you Mom – we will miss you
