It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Concepcion “Ching” Benavidez Magbanua on August 25th, 2022 at the TBRHSC.
Ching was born on March 1, 1938, at General Tinio Nueva Ecija Philippines to Regelado Benavidez Sr. and Vicenta Villamor and was the eldest of 8 siblings. From her love of personal interactions with others she built a successful career in sales. A committed and dedicated “Couples for Christ” leader in the Philippines. Moving with the family to Canada in 1991 and building a new life and a better future with her husband and sons. She was a stroke survivor since 2004. Eventually making Roseview Manor her home and was unmistakable for her laugh and affectionate nature. The family is grateful for the team that cared for her over the years.
She will be forever remembered for her love of family, cooking, baking and entertaining guests. A strong willed, driven and goal-oriented woman whilst being a gentle, supportive mom and wife. She would accomplish anything she set her sights on. She was the guiding hand that completed a strong family unit. She instilled confidence and optimism in her relationships. She believed that “laughter is the best medicine” and practiced it in her everyday life.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother Regelado Benavidez Jr. She is survived by her loving husband Paquito Magbanua, sons Emmanuelle (Gin gin), Jacinto (Rose), Karl (Alannah), Vincent (Sophie) and daughter Cecille (Jimmy). Numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Rev. Marco Ladao with visitation to begin one hour prior. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens will follow the reception. The service will be livestreamed and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.
