Mrs. Connie Margaret Lake (nee: Sheldrick), age 71, passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Friday, December 11, 2015.
Connie was born in Porcupine, ON., January 2, 1944 and she graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1967. She served as a nurse in several northern community nursing stations. Connie retired after 21 years from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and travelling, especially to her second home in Newfoundland. Connie also volunteered for the Red Cross for several years as a driver.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Reg and their sons; Wayne and Kelly both of Thunder Bay, her brother Ronald Sheldrick (late Gail), and her mother in law Joyce. Connie was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Margaret, and her father in law Hedley.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Lake will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM celebrated by Rev. Gordon Holroyd. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the local Canadian Red Cross Society or the Thunder Bay District Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
