Cynthia Loretta Lynn Tucker Wright, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with her family by her side. Cindy will be deeply missed by her husband, Chuck Wright, and children, Brenden Wright and Karli Wright, parents Loretta and Kirk Haggart, Ford Tucker, her siblings, Cathy Tucker Owca (David) and Chris Tucker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. Cindy is predeceased by her sister Connie, and brothers Colin and Calvin.
Cindy was born in Grand-Falls, Newfoundland, later moving to Sudbury, Ontario and shortly after, to Longlac. It was here she grew up, met the love her life, Chuck, and began a family. More recently, moving to Thunder Bay to be closer to her children as they began their lives as young adults.
Cindy was a very successful businesswoman. She worked as a social worker for over 15 years, while also pursuing her dream of becoming an aesthetician. Cindy opened Elements Tanning and Day Spa in Longlac and was awarded Businesswoman of the Year in 2016.
Cindy spent several years working and volunteering her time at Our Lady of Fatima school and Migizi Wazisin school on Long Lake #58 First Nation. Whether it was coaching afterschool sports or chaperoning dances, she was always involved. Her home was forever filled with love, fun, great food, and was somewhere everyone felt welcomed.
Cindy lived her life to the fullest and family was the essence of her heart. Of her many roles, being a mother to Brenden and Karli was her greatest pride. She always made them her priority and went above and beyond for them. Cindy meant the world to so many people and everyone knew her heart was made of gold. Our world has lost a beautiful soul, yet heaven has gained an angel.
Cindy’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the remarkable healthcare teams at both the Geraldton District Hospital, and the TBRHSC ICU for providing such compassionate care during this time.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at the Italian Cultural Centre, Saturday March 25, 2023, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with commemorations beginning at 1:30 p.m.
