Daniel Bryan Shields

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved dad, Daniel Bryan Shields on May 5, 2018, just days before his 67th birthday. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was born May 9th, 1951 in Barwick, Ontario. He married Charlene Shields on November 28th, 1970 and they had four beautiful children; Daniel; Crystal (Rob) Frasca; Lisa (Darryl) Solomon of Chestermere, AB and Cindy (Dave) Lankinen. He is survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Shields, eight grandchildren, one great grandson and his dear friend Pat Pelto, as well as other relatives.

He is predeceased by his wife Charlene (2015), father-in-law Norman Holman (2012), brother Hugh (2007), grandson Joshuah Abraham (2001), mother-in-law Joyce Holman (1993), mother Alma (1982), brother Dale (1963), and father Gordon (1961).

Dan worked as an auto mechanic at various locations in Thunder Bay. He worked most recently at Auto Parts Central as a shipper receiver until his retirement. After his retirement he worked at Bannon’s Gas Bar.

As per Dan’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Dan will be held on Thursday, May 10th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
