Daniel Rolland McGuire Jr.

Mr. Daniel Rolland McGuire Jr. (Chalkie) Wa-cha-ka-nuk, age 46 years, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 12, 2021 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Daniel was born on July 5, 1975 in Thunder Bay. He was a loving father, son, brother, and free spirit who will be forever remembered for bringing joy and laughter to everyone in his company. He was raised in MacDiarmid, Ontario and on the trap line in Washi Lake where he learnt to hunt, fish, trap and survive off the land. His childhood was shared between the trap line and in Thunder Bay at his grandparent’s house to attend school. He was known for his love of his children and all children through the passing down of his mischievous nature to all future generations. He was known for his kindness and generosity as he shared his home with others in need. He had a natural talent to build and rebuild electronics, mechanics and anything that he put his mind to including being one of the most organized and fashionable persons in the family.

He will be deeply missed by his parents Daniel McGuire Sr. and Catherine McGuire; his children Aeron Nichols-McGuire, Kol Goodwin, and Jasmine McGuire; and his siblings Shawn Baxter, Anne Chondon (Patrick) and Charlie McGuire; nieces and nephews Matthew, Patrick, Noah, Sona, Tanisha, Kayla, Kelsey; special cousins Cora, Tony, Michelle and Laura; numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his Kookum; Chomish; Mama; Baba; beloved cousin Corrine; and other relations.
 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00am in Everest Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm. 
 
Attendees for both the visitation an funeral services must provide proof of double vaccination, government photo i.d. and wear masks.
 
If friends desire, donations in memory of Daniel made to Catherine McGuire for an education trust fund for his daughter Jasmine would be appreciated.
