David Allan Andrusco

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Allan Andrusco. He was the beloved husband of Susan Andrusco of 34 years.

Dave was born in Fort Frances, Ontario in 1964 and moved with his family to Thunder Bay shortly after his birth. He attended Westgate High School and Confederation College before starting his career as a Youth Officer at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre in 1990. Dave's passion and dedication lead to him becoming the Superintendant of the TBCC. He is fondly remembered by past and present coworkers and employees as an incredible mentor, leader, and friend. You could always count on him for a well-timed sarcastic joke or good-humored teasing. If Dave was in the room, people were laughing.

We will always remember his supportive and sarcastic but loving nature. He was always excited and willing to lend a hand with renovations, and more recently began gardening with his wife and granddaughter, Liv.

Dave is survived by his wife Susan, children Meagan (Kurtis), and Zachary (Breanne), his grandchildren Avery and Allivia, his parents Allan and Patti, his sister Janna (Rob), brother Steve (Sandra), many close cousins and nieces and nephews, and so many close friends who will forever be a part of our family.
We are so thankful to the staff on unit 2C at the TBHSC, who were so compassionate and went above and beyond to help our family at this time.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 6th from 1pm-4pm at the Victoria Inn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Thunder Bay Health Sciences Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
