Mr. David James Coffey, age 57 years, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

David was born in Sault Ste. Marie on May 30, 1960. He was a dedicated servant of Canada. David had a 30 year career with the Thunder Bay City Police, retiring in 2012. He was also retired, after 35 years of service, from the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves with a Rank of 38-Brigade LSSR RSM. David had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing. He had a great sense of humour and could truly light up a room. Friends were one of David's greatest treasures and he always looked forward to food and hospitality shared among them. David will be truly missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his sister, Margaret-Anne Coffey as well as two cousins and countless friends and co-workers. He was predeceased by his parents, David and Margaret Coffey as well as numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. A reception will be held at Shooters Tavern on Memorial Avenue following the graveside service.
