Mr. David Douglas Smith, age 54 years, passed away peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Friday, November 13, 2015 with family at his side.
David was born and raised in Current River, attending Black Bay School and graduating from Lakeview High School. He worked at Teleco for 25 years up until his illness. Through the years, he enjoyed camping with the family, fishing and watching his favourite hockey team, The Boston Bruins.
David will be sadly missed by his children Zack and Teal Smith (Paul Larson); stepdaughter Richelle Camara (Roy), of Toronto; mother Phyllis Smith and sister Kim Smith, of Aldergrove, B.C. He was predeceased by his father, Donald Smith.
An Evening of Remembrance will be held at the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, on Friday, November 20, 2015 when friends may visit between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. A sharing of memories will begin at 7:00 p.m. presided by Mr. David Alander. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations in Dave’s memory to the Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the TBRHSC for the care they provided to Dave over the last couple of years.
