It is with profound sadness that the family of Mr. David Hois, age 87 years, announces his peaceful passing on Monday, December 4, 2017 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

David was born in Czechoslovakia on November 19, 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1957, before settling in Thunder Bay in 1985. He worked in the mining industry until an accident forced him to retire. He married Isolde Chudigiewitsch and they recently celebrated 30 years of marriage in November. David enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who adored him. He also loved travelling and fishing. David will be lovingly remembered and truly missed by all of his family and friends.

David will be deeply missed by his wife Isolde Hois and step-daughter Jeannette Belluz (Brian) as well as his much loved grandchildren Patrick, Samantha and Emily. He is also survived by siblings Christel, Hermann, Gerda and niece Inge all of Bavaria, Germany as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and relatives. 

He was predeceased by his parents and six siblings.

Funeral Services for the late Mr. David Hois will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:00PM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Interment will take place at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of David to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
