David William Koroscil , 3 weeks before his 70th year, on January 28th, 2023 , passed away peacefully in his sleep with his sister in law at his bedside.

Knowing his passing was near, David made many phone calls to family and friends in the upcoming week and, as was his nature, he said goodbye and I love you in his own way. Family would like to thank you for being there for him over the past 9 years since his life changing stroke.

David’s life long passion was always for hot muscle cars, heavy equipment, and airplanes. He watched hours of YouTube videos on these subjects and never tired of the loud noises of a running piece of equipment or cars spinning out. Until recently David would be out driving the back roads just enjoying nature and stopping to talk to anyone he encountered.

David is survived by his loving mother Louise Koroscil, siblings Ken (Gloria ), Michael, Karen, Maryann, nieces and nephews,   cousins, and special cousin and best friend Ron Koroscil. He was predeceased by his father William Koroscil in 2001.

David grew up in Geraldton working alongside his father in the family construction / gravel pit business , until illness forced him into early retirement. David was regarded as an excellent heavy equipment operator and mechanic and even after he could no longer do the work he continued to mentor and engage with others in construction. In 2017 David was no longer able to live independently and moved to Thunder Bay but his heart remained in Geraldton.

As were David’s wishes, there will be no funeral. He wished his ashes to be taken to tropical beaches where he would forever be warm and family will honour his wishes. Where ever we go we will carry David in our hearts and a memento of his life will be with us wherever we travel.
