WHITFIELD- Mrs. Diane Elizabeth (nee Huntsman) Whitfield, age 75 years, a resident of Shuniah, ON passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor on Friday, March 27, 2015. Born in Guelph, Diane lived in the Thunder Bay area for 50 years. Diane's main interest was her family and friends. Over the years she enjoyed visiting with her many relatives including her aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a longtime member of Northwood Park Church of Christ and participated in a variety of sports when she was younger.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years John, children Karen, Megan (John Trudeau), Brian and Evan; grandchildren: Daniel Perry (Paula Cole), Jeremy Perry (Ian Dagami), Tim Perry (Kelsey Benning), Scott Mewhiney, Andrew Pomber, Katy Moore (Patrick), Benji Pomber, Mara Whitfield (Roy Belluz), Malia Whitfield, Miana Whitfield, Madeline Whitfield, John Whitfield, also Jamie, Rachel and Amanda Trudeau; sister-in-law Jean Huntsman, niece Lara and nephew Carl. Diane held a special place in her heart for her great-grandchildren: Infinity, Haydn, Reason, Keen, Evan and Hailey. She was close to her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses: Goldie (Morris), Elwood (late Shirley), Charles (Linda), Ruby (Art), late Robert (Marilyn), Diamond (Jason) and Lawrence (Lily).

Diane was predeceased by her father Clarence Huntsman, mother Lois (Juniper) Huntsman, step-mother Madolin (Smart) Huntsman, brother Donald Huntsman and son-in-law Lawrence Pomber.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Mr. Arthur Ford presiding.

A private interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 4 pm to 6 pm in the Sargent & Son Funeral Home. Should friends desire memorial donations to the John and Diane Whitfield Bursary at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Dr. John and Mrs. Diane Whitfield Bursary at Lakehead University, the Thunder Bay Shelter House or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
