Don Wolframe Sr. passed away peacefully on January 11, 2019 with his family by his side at St. Joseph's Hospice Unit at the age of 67.

Don worked hard and tirelessly to raise his boys and always provided love and support. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 966 for 32 years before retiring. During his years as a transit bus driver; many travellers were welcomed into his home and were escorted around the City of Thunder Bay which earned him the Giant Heart Award. His eagerness to help others was proven when he started the Santa Bus with the City of Thunder Bay Transit 24 years ago. His passion for life was coaching hockey and nurturing many Thunder Bay players through the Elks Hockey Program. Don's greatest joy was when he became a “papa” to his 4 grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey and spending time with them at camp.

He is survived by his sons Don (Charlene), Derek (Kim), grandchildren, Brandon, Brett, Ashlie and Hayden as well as his brothers, sisters, and many other family members. He was predeceased by his wife, Brenda, parents, Frank and June, father in law, Tauno, brothers in law, Wes, Terry and Alvin.

Special thanks to Don Holmstrom, Guy and Dan Wolframe for your love and support.

As per Don's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at a later date.
