Donald John Gustafson

Donald was born in Port Arthur, ON to Carl and Lila. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Queens in 1965. He was a proud member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), and a past chair of the PEO Lakehead Chapter. His career was diverse and included stints in mining, grain elevator and bridge construction, consulting engineering and the Ministry of Environment. His varied jobs carried him to Indiana, Sept-Iles, Sudbury, Barbados, and many NWOntario towns. He truly enjoyed what he did and the people he met.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Lila. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sandra, and children Leslie (Mike Sherlock) and Carl (Gina), sister Elizabeth Colwell (Joe) and grandchildren of whom he was very proud, Asia, Evah and Charlotte.

A celebration of life will be announced and held in late Spring for Don. If friends so desire, donations to the Salvation Army in Don’s memory would be appreciated.

We sadly say “goodbye” to a truly wonderful man. Be nice to the people you meet, “Gus” would have wanted it that way.
