It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a great daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who left us on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Donna Jean Soloway was born on April 7, 1963 in Fort William, Ontario. She attended Crawford Avenue School, Heath Park School, and graduated from Gron Morgan Highschool.
Donna always had fond memories of her family camping days at Graham. In her adult years, Donna enjoyed attending her niece’s skating and gymnastics shows, taking bus tours to Keith Urban concerts and spending time with her bingo buddies.
Donna is survived by her mother Evelyn; brother Gordon, sister Mary Jayne (Raymond) Smith; niece Amanda Jayne Smith; special uncle Ed Soloway; grandmother Rita Sharpe; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins who she stayed close with and loved dearly.
Donna will also be sadly missed by her best and special friend Val. Donna is predeceased by her father Clifford (2008); grandfather Wasyl (Bill) (2012); grandmother Jean (1949); step-grandmother Sabina (1988) and grandfather Oren Sharpe (1999). A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:00am at First Wesley United Church, 130 N. Brodie Street, with Rev Hewitt Holmes officiating.
Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date. If friends so desire a donation in Donna's memory to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre would be greatly appreciated.
Donna Soloway will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
