Mrs. Dorothy Amadeo, age 82 years, passed away on April 4, 2016 at St Joseph’s Hospital with her family by her side.

Dorothy was born in Port Arthur on July 1, 1933 to Mary and Ernest Kohler. She married Louis Amadeo on July 4, 1953 and together they raised their 2 sons, Barry and Brian.

Dorothy spent her entire working career at Eaton’s department store until her retirement. She was an avid bowler in her younger years and went on to the Western Canada Championships on several occasions. She also enjoyed ceramics, bingo and travelling to Las Vegas. She spent many years as a volunteer at the 55 plus center where she would help out with the dances with her husband Louis playing the music.

In her later years she would look forward to her Saturday evening dinner and casino night with her niece and special friend Marilyn. She also enjoyed her Sunday afternoon coffee group.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Barry and Brian (Janice) and grandchildren Jordan (Jess) and Katie, and sister Agnes (Bill) Luxton of Ottawa as well as many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.  She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Ernest Kohler, her brothers Richard, John and Brian and sisters Marion Bissonnette and Alice Best.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place at a later date. Should friends so desire in lieu of flowers, donations made in Dorothy’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
