Mrs. Dorothy Lillian Ranta, age 95 years, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

Dorothy was born in Fort William, Ontario on June 8, 1927 Jessie (nee Nappala) and Waino Hill. She and Edward were married, and together raised their children Richard and Cindy. For many summers, the family camped at Pashkokogan Lake, many friendships and memories were made there. She enjoyed boating and spending time outdoors. She also loved reading, knitting and watching movies on TCM. An avid bowler, she looked forward to league nights a Mario's Bowl. She was employed with the Government of Canada for many years, retiring in the early 1980's.

As a young girl, Dorothy travelled with her parents and grandfather throughout Canada and the US. It was time for them to be together making stops that interested them and visiting many restaurants where they loved trying new foods. She continued this love for travel later in life, visiting Egypt, Israel and Greece with her sister, Jean. She was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church and her faith was very important to her.

Survived by her children, Richard and Cindy (Erwin) Kuzmich; grandchildren Craig (Karla) Kuzmich and Kristy Kuzmich (Bobby) and sister, Jean and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband, Edward (1995), parents and brother, Ronald Hill.

Private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
