Dorothy Maki, age 80 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Hogarth Riverview Manor with her devoted sister Janet by her side.

Dorothy was born January 4th, 1941 in Port Arthur.

She was predeceased by her parents Edna and Julius Maki, her brothers Ken Sr. (Florence), Marvin, Vern and sister, Florence Card (Bob). She is survived by her sister, Janet, brother Clarence (Ann), aunt Lila Siczkar and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family and by her childhood friend, Jean Turcarolo.

Her love of children led her to work many years as a well loved and respected nanny. She loved sports, especially the Montreal Canadians. She enjoyed going to casinos, bowling, and watching wrestling. She was past member of the Women of the Moose Branch 1212.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in the chapel Sargent and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jari Lahtinen of Hilldale Lutheran Church will officiating. Those wishing to attend virtually may do so on the Sargent and Son Facebook page. As per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a interment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
