Mr. Douglas (Cooper) Lesperance Sr., age 71, passed away suddenly after a short illness at the TBRHSC surrounded by family on June 16, 2018.

Douglas was born on January 29, 1947 in Thunder Bay. He worked for many years as a forester until his injuries. He had a passion for many things, he loved mechanics, playing guitar, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Douglas will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Tamara “Tammy”, Laura “Penny”, Douglas, Daniel, and David; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings Phyllis (Eugene) Michon, Caroline (James) Hardy, Dennis (Valda) Lesperance, Marlene Lesperance, and Reggie (Debbie) Legarde; he will be also missed by his ex-wife Helen Perkles and her sister Helga, who has been so helpful during Doug’s illness.

He was predeceased by parents Dennis and Lucy Lesperance, siblings Christopher, Albert, Victor, Ernest, Denise Bouchard, Lorrie “Zoey” Lester, and his twin brother at birth, as well as his first wife Vivian Donio.

An Evening Visitation for Douglas will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Harbourview Funeral Centre from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, June 22, 2018 beginning at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) in the chapel of the Harbourview Funeral Centre. Cremation to follow.
