A good man died on December 6, 2018 at the age of 64 years, losing his battle with depression.

Wayne was born in Fort Frances on April 7, 1954. His passion for horses since childhood took him to the University of Guelph Veterinary School where he earned his DVM.

For the past 33 years he was employed by CFIA as the only district veterinarian for all Northwestern Ontario covering from the Manitoba border to Sault Ste. Marie to Fort Severn. His love for motorcycles was his other great passion. The “King” as they called him could ride with exceptional skill and speed. A pillar in the AA community, Wayne was so loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Diana, sons Matthew and Ethan, sister Janice (Jeff), brother David, brothers-in-law Jack, Sterling (Terry), sister-in-law Kathy (Dion) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Current River Community Centre, 450 Dewe Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association.
