It is with absolute devastation, despair and broken hearts that we announce the passing of the greatest man on earth, Mr. Dwayne Murray Ellis, on Saturday December 16, 2017 at the age of 62 years. Dwayne was the rock of our family and was the best husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. His passing has left the biggest void in all our lives. Family was everything to Dwayne and he would be there in a heartbeat for anyone that needed him day or night and he would give the shirt off his back for anyone. Whether it was a phone call everyday with Jeff, taking Nick and Cody to get their G1, helping Izak with building things in the garage, taking walks to the lake or sitting on the floor with Brooke and putting her puzzles back together. Papa could always be found in the stands at any football or hockey game cheering on his boys. He always went above and beyond. These moments meant everything to him. Dwayne loved his many days this past summer spent with Marj at their camp on Shebandowan, especially when he got to sit on the deck on Sunday afternoons and wave goodbye to his weekend visitors. He loved fishing, especially when he would be the only one to come back with the catch of the day. He also enjoyed ATV’ing, snowmobiling, and tinkering in the garage on any project or task that was given to him. He was so proud of the recent purchase of his boat and his new FORD truck. He was also not just a father in law, but a best friend.

He has left behind the love of his life of 42 years Marjorie; daughter Jenny (Darren); son Jeff (Crystal); his pride and joy, his grandchildren Nicholas, Cody, Izak and Brooke; sister Tanya (Derrick); brother in laws Alfred (Cecil) and Bernie (Ann); sister in laws Gloria (Peter) and Shirley; numerous nieces and nephews as well as other extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Murray and Mavis Ellis, and in laws Raymond and Jean Mulholland as well as numerous other relatives.

Dwayne would always say everything happens for a reason. Love you to the moon and back Dad, you will always be my hero. Gone but never forgotten.

A small gathering for close family and friends will be held at a later date where Dwayne spent many hours, in his garage. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice if so desired.

The family would like to thank the wonderful paramedics, OPP officers and medical team at TBRHSC for their amazing efforts and for the kindness and compassion shown to us during this most horrible time.
