It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the unexpected passing of Edna Mae Prezio (nee Thomas) on April 5th, 2023 in Victoria B.C., surrounded by family. She was in Victoria for one of many visits that she and her late husband have enjoyed over the years. lt was their winter getaway and a chance to reconnect with friends and family on the West Coast.

Edna married the love of her life Amadeo (Emy) Prezio on May 14, 1954 and together they raised two beautiful children. Eventually building their dream home on Trout lake and spending many years surrounded by friends and family and creating amazing memories at “The Blethering Place”. Edna had a gift for making friends and keeping them close to her heart for her lifetime. Edna took pride in and met many wonderful people as a member of St. Paul’s United Church. Edna had a knack for hosting; many tea parties, holidays and visits were spent with her, instilling in her grandchildren the love for a cup of tea (Red Rose only), a good competitive card game and the proper way to set the table (fork on the left).

Edna was loved and will be greatly missed by many, especially her children, Gary Prezio (Sue) and Noel Stout (Bryon), grandchildren; Megan (Adam), Troy (Jamie), Kaitlin (Matt), Cole, Rory and great grandchildren; Slater, Vaughn and Hazel. We were blessed to have had her in our lives and will forever treasure the memories of her.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Edna’s cousin Barbara Thomas-Bruzzese, the staff of 5 North Royal Jubilee Hospital and the Chateau Victoria Hotel for the support and kindness they offered to both Edna and her family during her final weeks in Victoria.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
