It is with great sadness, the family of Edward Esquega Sr., age 64, announce his passing in the early hours of Nov. 3, 2016 with his family at his side for support.

He fought like a brave warrior throughout his battle against cancer. He was born in Beardmore, Ont. and lived most of his life in Fort William First Nation.

He worked for a number of years at local Grain Elevators and also the Min. of Natural Resources. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, trapping and fishing.  He loved being around his family and friends.

And loved sitting outside, listening to music.  He is survived by his long time friend (and “ex”) Cecile, his children Louise (Tom), Eddie Jr. and Billy (Naiomi), his grandchildren and his brother Lawrence, sisters Lucy Day (Jack), Myria Esquega (Laverne) and Theresa and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces / nephews.

He was predeceased by his infant son at birth, his parents Margaret and Victor Esquega Sr., his grandparents, aunts and uncles

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 07, 2016 at 10:00 am, when family and friends will gather for Mass at St. Anne's Church, celebrated by Rev. Larry Kroker s.j. Internment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Prayers will be offered on Sunday, November 06 at 7:00 pm at St. Anne's Church.

Edward Esquega will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
