It is with deep sadness the family of Edward Novak, age 90 years, announce his sudden passing on Monday, August 1, 2022 in St. Joseph's Hospice. Edward was born in Fort William on February 8, 1932.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Nick) Colledanchise and grandchildren Tyler (Jessica Wall) and Kali Colledanchise as well as his daughters-in-law Debbie and Brenda and their families.

Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife, Erna; his sons Alan and Kevin; his father Steven Novak, mother Pauline Bagan (Novak) and step-father Nick Bagan and his brother Mickey.

Dad retired from Great Lakes Forest Products after 32 years of service. He enjoyed attending Tyler and Kali's activities, and was very proud of their accomplishments.

Dad was known as the Candy Man, and handed out Werther's candies to whomever he met. The candy always came with a joke or a poem. He could be seen driving his pink van with pink being his favourite colour.

Edward often referred to himself as a “sculpturist” who created “artistic endeavours” which he gave to family and friends. He lived his life to the fullest and Dad maintained his sense of humour until his passing.

In accordance with Edward's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Interment will take place beside Erna in Dog River Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.

If desired, donations can be made in memory of Edward to St. Joseph's Hospice.
