You will guide me with your counsel and afterward you will take me into glory. Psalm 73:24

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the sudden passing of Edwerd Jan Bolt, age 46, from a fatal trucking accident December 17, 2021.

He was born on January 13, 1975 in Winsum Netherlands to parents Sam and Jansje Bolt. He immigrated to Canada in 2000 with a mechanics license and came to Thunder Bay to be near his brother Martin and other relatives. He worked as a farm hand for various people but most notably for Hank Templeman and Brian Bolt. He then worked for Makkinga Contracting, Wilco Contracting and Perozak's Welding as a mechanic. He was a truck driver for Pollard for a period of time, after which he became an owner operator. This became the highlight of his working career and something he truly enjoyed doing. He was also well known for his love of fabricating things with both wood and metal. Edwerd was also a man with a strong faith, who was an active member of Summit Church. He was a devout christian who walked very close to God and often listened to and enjoyed Christian music and movies. This gives the family great joy and comfort to know that he is now with his heavenly father.

He will be sadly missed by Janet Bolt-Brouwer, sister Frouwke (Gerrit) Kars, sister Judith (Henk) Dijk, brother Martinus (Sandra) Bolt, sister Tineke Bolt and sister Annie (Erik) Bos. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, who he very much enjoyed spending time with. They are Marjanne Kars, Jason Dijk (children Jay-Lynn and Jayshaira) , Carsten Dijk, Sabrina Bolt, Kaitlyn Bolt and Sam Bolt, Feyrouz Hamdoun partner Mehmet (children Aydin, Alara) Julian Bos, Eva Bos and Tristan Bos. Edwerd also had many cousins, uncles, aunts and friends who were very close to him and will miss him greatly. Edwerd was predeceased by his parents Sam and Jansje Bolt and niece Julianne Jansje Bolt. If friends and family desire, donations can be made in Edwerd’s memory to the “Thunder Bay Christian School”

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday December 30, 2021, 1 p.m., at Summit Church, 515 Syndicate Ave N. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
