Eero Viljo Tuuttila
It is with profound sadness after a courageous battle with cancer, the Lord has called Eero Viljo Tuuttila home. At his peaceful passing on October 16th, 2021 his loving family was by his side.

Eero was born February 21, 1950, in Kalajoki, Finland. At the age of six, Eero moved to Canada with his parents. After graduating high school, Eero began his career in the woodlands at Northern Wood and then to Abitibi; he loved his jobs in the bush! Eero never admitted he was retired and always volunteered his time cleaning driveways, painting, clearing trees and splitting wood for family, friends and neighbours. He especially enjoyed working for his favourite employer BJ Kapush.

At the age of 24, Eero started dating the love of his life, Jenny. One year later, they were married. During those years, Eero enjoyed watching their children grow and attend their many sports and activities. In recent years, Eero and Jenny enjoyed road trips to Iowa to visit their daughter, Katrina, Troy and their children, and vacationing in Arizona and Mexico. But, some of his favourite memories were made at home on One Island Lake surrounded by family and friends.

After his parents moved back to Finland 16 years ago, Eero and Jenny travelled back there every second year while enjoying touring other countries with many cousins and family.

Everywhere Eero went he loved to make people chuckle and smile with his quirky sense of humour. Eero exuded the definition of Sisu after his many hospital visits, always coming back strong.

Eero will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Jenny. His children, Kristofor (Nita), Katrina (Troy) (Sioux Center, Iowa) and Mark (Lindsay). Pappa will be forever missed by his 7 grandchildren; Kaelen (Kassidy), Kieryn, Madisyn Tuuttila, Olivia, Ian and Trevor TenNapel and Hanna Tuuttila. Also survived by his parents in Finland, Aino and Kalevi. Mother in law Henny Buitenhuis and in laws, Bert (Lydia) Buitenhuis, John (Debbie) Buitenhuis, Anita (Ross) Smith, Gary (Sue) Prezio and Henrietta (Ed) Breukleman as well as many nieces and nephews. Eero will be especially missed by cousins and best friends Juhani and Sinikka Tuuttila (Helsinki, Finland) and good friends Dave Saari and Roy Nurmi.

Eero is pre deceased by his father in law Jan Buitenhuis and sister in law Irene Prezio.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the VON nurses who cared for Eero while at home especially, Tia, Lucja and Jen; your care and compassion will never be forgotten. And to the SNEMS paramedics who were present, for their professionalism and compassion.

A private funeral will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday October 22nd at Bethlehem Christian Reformed Church where Eero was a faithful member. Those wishing to watch the service may do so on the Bethlehem Christian Reformed Church Facebook page. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00pm in the chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court St. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Lappe Volunteer Fire Department or TBRHSC Cancer Centre. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
